Employees Report Making Progress at Work More Important Than Recognition, Meaningful Work

A study from research and technical advisory firm Forrester Research, Inc., Predictions 2018: Employee Experience Powers the Future of Work, highlights key shifts in the workplace that will contribute to growth by helping employees improve customers’ experiences.

Among the study’s findings is that in the U.S., only 32 percent of employees are engaged. This lack of engagement is due, in part, to employers focusing on factors like employee recognition, not the underlying causes.

“Studies show that making progress, every day, on the work employees know is most important is the most critical factor in their ongoing engagement. It’s more important than recognition, meaningful work, and social support.”
