Historical clinical practice guidelines

Our archive of clinical practice guidelines is offered for informational purposes only. It contains publications that are older than five years as well as some that were developed before the implementation of the revised guideline development standards.

Although they may not meet the highest evidentiary formulation standards, our Scientific Review Committee reserves the right to continue endorsing a guideline or practice resource as long as it remains clinically relevant, and an updated publication does not exist. These guidelines often validate practices as the community standard of care, even though rigorous scientific research confirmation may not be available or may have progressed since their publication.

Historical clinical practice resources

The historical clinical practice resources listed below contain recommendations heavily based on expert consensus in areas with insufficient evidence in medical literature.
