Good mental health is essential to employee well-being and a thriving productive workforce, and a recent survey shows employers recognize the value behavioral health services provide. A survey of 314 U.S. employers found that 88 percent ranked behavioral health as an important issue over the next three years, and many are making plans to improve the quality of their programs. Employers reported they are committed to making services convenient for their employees and will provide access through telemedicine and mobile apps to help employees manage stress reduction, anxiety, and sleep disorders.
Employers identified the following as priorities:
- Locating more timely and effective treatment of behavioral health issues (63 percent)
- Integrating behavioral health case management with medical and disability case management for a more holistic view of employee health (61 percent)
- Providing better support for complex behavioral health conditions (56 percent)
