Dr. Sherry Dubester, Executive Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Beacon Health Options, has over 25 years of experience in health care, spanning direct care delivery and administrative leadership roles in academic and community mental health settings, as well as extensive health plan experience. Dr. Dubester is accountable for all clinical and quality functions at Beacon, including care management, clinical strategy and clinical account management functions. Dr. Dubester also serves on the Executive Leadership Team for Beacon Care Services, a newly established Beacon business that increases access to quality mental and behavioral health care in local communities.
Dr. Dubester joined Beacon from Anthem BlueCross BlueShield (Anthem) after an 18-year career with the national health plan. Her most recent role at Anthem was Vice President, Health Solutions, where she was responsible for commercializing a range of clinical products. Previously she served as Vice President, Behavioral Health and Clinical Programs, overseeing end-to-end management of Behavioral Health and EAP for more than 19 million commercial members as well as leading the Enterprise opioid strategy, as well as earlier roles as Regional Vice President and Medical Director for National Accounts and Staff Vice President, Clinical Strategy and Product Development. Prior to joining Anthem, Dr. Dubester was Executive Medical Director of Behavioral Health Services for Glens Falls Hospital in upstate New York. She began her career at National Jewish Health in Denver, where she led inpatient psychosocial services.
Dr. Dubester earned her medical degree at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed her psychiatry residency at University of Colorado Health Sciences Center and is board certified in psychiatry. She also completed a master’s degree in administrative medicine at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
